I'm in a serious dilemma right now and I need all of you to help me. I need help developing my own art style, I feel that my art is to derivative of my friends and some of my friends have said that they feel like I'm copying them. As such I want to ask fellow artists how I can make my art style unique and different. I have a similar problem. my cousin copied my art style (more or less too much). we are working together right now so that outsiders can see a clear difference.
it's still stupid, because my style and that of my cousin easily mix up.

I'm not sure because it's not so easy to change his art style (permanently).
look at other art techniques and learn to analyze. find what you like and draw as often as you can. your art style develops through your experience and your perception.
it just takes time and you just need your own motivation, then the rest comes alone.
but it certainly won't hurt if you concentrate on your OC and try something new.
but practice (if possible with fun) is the best thing you can do now.
